I must apologise for the delay in posting this message but since our function on the 23rd April my wife, Jean, has been a little bit poorly and I have been playing nursemaid and not been able to catch up with web site and forum matters.

Don Ford Florist of Stanley Road Bootle supplied all of the floral tributes, Isle Of Man flag, Ships Anchor and single red roses, for the memorial service last December. When we told Don about our function on the 23rd in aid of Lifeboats Don donated two lovely bouquets of flowers, 1 each for Rachael, the wife of Chief Minister Tony Brown, and Debi Jones, our volunteer host for the function.

We are very grateful to Don for providing such wonderful floral tributes for this entire event and as an indication of the beauty of the floral displays when Tony Brown stepped forward on the ferry to cast the MANX FLAG display onto the waters a voice onboard was heard to say, "THEY ARE NOT GOING TO THROW THAT BEAUTIFUL CAKE INTO THE RIVER ARE THEY?" The bouquets given to Rachael Brown and Debi Jones were equally beautiful displays.

Another supporter at our function was COSTCO who very kindly donated one of their delicious iced cakes for our guests to enjoy and a BOTTLE OF NAVY RUM which was one of the prizes in the reaffle on the night.

COSTCO approached us and asked if we would like these items for our function and we were very honoured that COSTCO showed sufficient interest in our event to come forward with this offer of support.

Whilst on the subject of thanking our supporters we should also say a special THANK YOU to METRO RADIO CABS of Marsh Lane Bootle for providing Taxi and Mini Bus Service for our guests on the night.

We hope then whenever possible viewers to our web site and forum will support these companies who support us.
